Cup Round Up
05 April 2011
Hamersley's first and reserve teams got a free pass through to the next round of the cup when their opponents, North Lake, forfeited the game due to a lack of registered players. Being the first game of the season it is inevitable this will happen to some teams but it is a surprise that one of our strong opponents in Division 1 are struggling early on.
The Division 5 Hamersley team put in a good effort at Liddell Park but unfortunately bowed out of the cup, losing 3-1 to Warnbro. The reserves faired better however with a 5-4 win after extra time.
A strong looking Hamersley Social Div 1 put in a great first game of the season, defeating Belmont Villa 8-2. The new Masters team had a great first game against Brooklands losing 4-2 after being ahead with only 10 minutes to go.
The ladies team had a very tough proposition in Woodvale from the Premier League and despite fighting hard they lost 8-1.
First league games of the season for all teams start this Sunday 10th April, 2011. Good luck to all Hamersley teams.
