Coaching Change at Carine
09 March 2013
It is with regret that we announce First Team Coach Craig Doble has accepted a job offer to head up one of the Burnley Australasian Academies in New Zealand and will no longer be coaching Hamersley Rovers in 2013. Craig was very keen to stay and coach the team and continue his job with Burnley in Perth but he was unable to secure a visa to stay and work in Australia.
We wish him all the best in his new adventure and hope that he will be back one day to be part of this great club he grew to love so much. While the club was aware there was always a possibility of Craig's visa not being renewed we believed it was a risk worth taking to secure the services of a well respected coach.
Meanwhile we have managed to secure the services of another highly qualified and hugely experienced coach in Brad Brooks. Brad also hails from the UK (and comes with a visa!) and will work closely with interim first team coach Tel Stupple for a smooth transition as we complete pre-season and get the team ready for the Amateur Premier League season.
Our first pre-season fixture is the annually contested Carine Cup against Sorrento Reserves on Sunday 10th of March. Hamersley will be looking to defend the cup they won emphatically last year 4-1. The game will act as a curtain raiser to the State League Charity Shield between Sorrento and Balcatta. Entry is by gold coin donation which will go to charity. Please come along and support the club and enjoy the day which promises to have a large crowd in attendance.
Member for Carine Tony Krsticevic will present the Carine Cup to the winning team at 2.20pm. Hamersley Reserves kick off against Sorrento U18's at 10.30am while the first team play at 12.30pm. The games are held at Percy Doyle Reserve, Warwick Road, Duncraig.
